trauma informed care
Hypnotist | Reiki Master Trainer | Intuitive Reader | Energy Healer | Embodiment Coach
I am Emmy Mathis, Founding Healer and Co-Director of BODHI Healing Center, a community-driven project I am passionately building to redefine wellness and empower individuals on their healing journeys. My work is rooted in Trauma-Informed Energy Medicine and Embodiment Coaching, blending intuitive guidance with evidence-based practices to create deeply transformative and nurturing experiences for my clients.
My work includes a unique integration of techniques such as hypnosis, IFS, Reiki, Emotion Code, sound healing, astrology, trauma-informed practices, and spiritual integration, all tailored to each person’s unique needs. I see my role as a guide, helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been silenced or lost due to trauma, societal expectations, or life’s challenges. Together, we work to release past traumas, foster self-love, and uncover your inner wisdom, allowing you to step into alignment with your true self.
Having trained extensively for over 15 years, I hold certifications as a Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master Trainer, Emotion Code Practitioner, and Holistic Embodiment Coach, among others. I also hold seven degrees in Reiki Trainings, 5 of which are advanced trainings. My approach is deeply informed by my own lived experiences as a survivor of childhood medical abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. These experiences, alongside navigating PTSD, Chronic Fatigue, and autoimmune disorders, have given me a profound empathy and an unshakable commitment to holding space for others’ healing.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that many behaviors we wish to change are survival mechanisms our nervous systems adopted to keep us safe in challenging times. By reframing these patterns with compassion and addressing unmet needs, I help clients release self-judgment and create new, healthier ways of being that honor their journeys.
I also bring a justice- and equity-focused lens to my work, recognizing how oppressive systems—from colonization culture to family dysfunction—disconnect us from our bodies, communities, and the earth. I believe in naming these systems to break their hold and empower healing. My work is deeply spiritual and practical, offering tools that reconnect clients to their innate wisdom, foster safety, and encourage joy.
Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of Michigan’s woods and lakes, I always felt more connected to nature than to societal norms. My life as a radical thinker—living outside of conventional systems, homeschooling my children, and following a holistic health path—has shaped my commitment to a holistic approach to healing. I believe in the innate goodness and worthiness of every person and approach every client with compassion, authenticity, and respect.
I see my work with my clients, and with BODHI, as part of my soul’s promise to help redefine what it means to be well, expose unjust systems, and empower people to reclaim their health and joy. Many clients tell me they’ve experienced profound shifts in just one session, finding healing they hadn’t achieved in years of other approaches. My goal is to help you hear your own inner truth and guide you back to your authentic self so you can live a life of strength, authenticity, and love.
Healing, integration, joy, and wholeness are your right, and I am here to walk alongside you as you reclaim that power.
